Used for
Point-of-use filtration where there is no power and no pressurised supply, since the unit works on gravity alone. The two figures in the table are the ones to plan around: 80 litres a day assumes reasonably clear raw water, and turbid water can pull that down to 10 litres a day, so pre-settling matters more than candle count. Because the candles are cleanable at least 100 times with a soft brush rather than replaced each time, the running cost sits in labour rather than consumables. Filtered water is checked with the Emergency Water Testing Kit for chlorine and pH, or the Portable Water Quality Test Kit for coliforms, and stored in a Collapsible Water Container or a Water Tank Collapsible.
Packing and documentation
Supplied in institutional quantities against a purchase order. The two filter sections telescope for shipping, which reduces the packed volume on a bulk consignment.
